Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.

Volunteers Needed.

Volunteers are an essential part of making the 2nd Annual SC HBCU 5K run/walk smoothly and ensuring that participants have a positive and memorable experience. Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer. We need volunteers to assist with:

  • Pre-Registration & On-site Registration: Volunteers are needed to assist with check-in, distribute participant packets, and answer questions from participants on the day before and day-of event.

  • Water Stations: Volunteers are needed to set up and manage water stations along the race route, handing out cups of water to runners and walkers as they pass by.

  • Cheer Squad: Volunteers are needed to checkpoints to cheer and motivate participants along the way to the finish line.

  • Course Marshals: Volunteers are needed to help direct participants along the race route, ensuring they stay on course and avoid hazards.

  • Start/Finish Line: Volunteers are needed to assist with setting up and taking down the start and finish lines, as well as managing crowds of participants at these areas.

  • Clean-up: Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning up the event area, picking up trash and debris, and ensuring that the area is left clean and tidy.

Block Party Volunteers:

  • Set Up/Break Down: Volunteers are needed to set up and break down signage and displays

  • Vendors/Exhibitors: Volunteers are needed to assist vendors/exhibitors with check in

  • Clean-up: Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning up the park area, picking up trash and debris, and ensuring that the area is left clean and tidy
